GREENSBORO, NC - December 2, 2011 - Honda Aircraft Company today completed its third annual “Operation Deep Appreciation” in support of U.S. service members stationed overseas. Honda Aircraft and its associates are sending 500 care packages to show their support and appreciation for U.S. service members on active duty in Afghanistan.
The care packages are destined for North Carolina-based members of the U.S. Marine Corps deployed from Camp Lejeune. Honda Aircraft provided the package contents and shipping, and Honda associates individually packed the boxes and added a personal note of thanks to each service member.
"Our company and our associates are connected to our community,” said Michimasa Fujino, President and CEO of Honda Aircraft Company. "We began this program to underscore our support for U.S. servicemen and women who are serving far from home over the holiday season. Our associates have enthusiastically embraced this effort, which is now in its third year, as a small symbol of our appreciation for the sacrifice these individuals make as they ensure our safety, security and freedom."
The 500 care packages contain personal care items, socks, shower shoes, a selection of snacks and candies, batteries, holiday decorations, and other items. Packages are scheduled for arrival prior to the holidays in late December.
